At 19:30 the first session began with a welcome from the sheriff. FBI Special Agent J. J. O’Brien, WMD Coordinator for the New York Region presented a program on threats we could face in the performance of our duties and resources available in our area. | |

The second session began with the introduction and welcome from our host, Putnam Counties’ new Commissioner of Emergency Services Adam B. Stiebeling. |

Our second program dealt with changes in radio communications which was presented by James Ciulla, Emergency Systems Planning Administrator for Putnam County. |

Preparations began at 17:00 with the delivery of the “jail-house coffee”. Just less than one hundred and forty registered. All will receive training certificates issued by, and individually signed by Sheriff Donald B. Smith underwriting three or six hours of training. |

Undersheriff Peter Convery welcomed the membership and was presented with a plaque thanking him for his continued support of the fire police. He is an active member of the Mahopac FD and is assigned to their fire police company. Secretary McGoorty was thanked for her work organizing and recording seminar registrations. |
