Just under 150 fire police attended each evening making this year’s program one of the best attended trainings held at the Putnam County Bureau of Emergencies TOPS Auditorium. County EMS Commissioner Adam B. Stiebeling and County Executive Mary Ellen Odell, and Undersheriff Peter Convery had kind words for the area fire police contribution to the safety of all. |

The guest speaker for the entire session was Deputy Coordinator and member of Battalion 17, Westchester County Bureau of Emergency Services, John Lembke. His topic, Leadership for Fire Police, covered a broad spectrum of issues facing officers as they train to perform their assignments. |

Sheriff Donald B. Smith was on hand to welcome those attending the second session and commended them for braving the rain storm raging outside. He also thanked the membership for their assistance to law enforcement by serving as a “force multiplier” helping keep Putnam the safest county in the State. The first speaker was SABT P. J. Obrien NY, FBI, who gave a survey of explosives, their properties, uses, how to recognize devices we may encounter. | |

Association Secretary who handles all the paperwork, attendance, and new membership, voiced a desire NOT to be again given a flower for her efforts… heeding her wish, President Bodor this year presented her with a “tomato plant”! First/Sgt. Paul Boscia, PNWFPA's liaison with the sheriff’s office was again on duty keeping an eye on the proceedings and renewing old acquaintances. |
