2025 PNWFPA's 35th Annual
John J. Bodor Sheriff's Fire Police Seminar
Part I
04/23/25

As flags waved at half mast in honor of the recently deceased Pope Francis, PNWFPA members gathered for the anual seminar. The evening opened with introductory remarks by PNWFPA President Marilyn Miller. She was followed by Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne, who welcomed everyone, and expressed his appreciation for all the members accomplish. The first speaker of the evening was Steve Pendzuk, with the topic of Traffic Incident Management. The break was, as always, welcome, and many donuts were consumed.
During the second half, John O'Connor spoke on NYS Article 35, in reference to the use of force.
As always, the 50 / 50 raffle was a great success, with a couple of members happy they attended the meeting.

Part II
04/30/25
The second half of the 2025 John J. Bodor Sheriff's Seminar opened at 7:00 PM on April 30. The Seminar was opened with a welcome by President Marilyn Miller, who also led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation was offered by PNWFPA Chaplain Louis Metty of Continental Village F.D. The group was also welcomed by Putnam County sheriff Kevin McConville, and Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne. The principal speaker for the evening was Putnam County Deputy Sheriff Claire Pierson, who spoke on the topic of Cons, Schemes, and Scams. As usual, a break gave all members an opportunity to snack and enjoy some informal conversation. At the end of the break, President Miller announced the Annual Meeting of PNWFPA will take place at Yorktown FD, on May 20, 2025. She also announced her retirement from the position of President of PNWFPA after a term of 10 years. She will support Todd Carter of Yorktown FD as the next President. The evening ended with a drawing. This series of photos shows a few of the many Fire Police vehicles present at the Seminar.
