Membership Recognitions

In addition to many awards bestowed on PNWFPA members by their individual departments throughout the years, at the Volunteer Fire Police Association of Dutchess County Annual Installation Dinner in October 2005, President John Bodor was presented with the 1st Annual Hugh “Red” Stanton Award for his contribution to the fire police service. President Bodor (Patterson FD) also was the recipient the 2002 Annual Ken Merriman Memorial Award at the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association’s 113th Annual Convention held at Lake George making him the second PNWFPA Member to be so honored. Our first member to receive the award in 1995 was FPO John Ortiz (Mahopac FD). Bill Keating (Mahopac FD) Captain of both the Mahopac Fire Police Squad and the Putnam County Fire Police Response Team, became the third member to receive the award in 2006.
Many members of the PNWFPA presently hold various offices and positions in their respective departments as well as in many firematic organizations. We are particularly proud of members Richard P. Jackob, who is President of the Volunteer Fire Police Association of Dutchess County. Members Carl J. Catalanotto, New Fairfield FD, is President and Jim Belote, Ridgefield FD, is 2nd VP of the Connecticut Fire Police Association. Jim is also the Coordinator for Fairfield County.
PNWFPA Member Robert Ruston, Somers FD, was recognized as their department's "Fire Policeman of the Year 2007". He was also awarded the Larchland Miller Memorial Award by WCVFA, and was awarded the title of "Honorary Sheriff Detective" by Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson at the Volunteer Fire Police Association of Dutchess County Annual Dinner on 9/20/07.
Member Rich Pepe, Continental Village FD, was also honored as Fireman of the year at his department's December 2007 meeting.
PNWFPA Vice President Tom Filecco (Lt. Lake Carmel FDFP) was the 2007 recipient of the George E. Woodman Memorial Award presented by the Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York for outstanding service to fire police and the community.
